The application specific integrated circuit (1) has a circuit (4) for execution of the required function and a data test circuit (3), which has a first stage (5) generating a test signal (6) divided according to the transmission frame and a second stage (7) for detecting bit errors in a received test signal (8), respectively coupled to the outputs (A1,..A20) and the inputs (E-,..E40) of the application specific integrated circuit.
