Procedure for portable route guidance with navigation equipment as well as portable navigation system and mobile telephone

The method involves calculating a route from a starting point to a destination point using the navigation apparatus (1). The route or part of a route is transmitted from the navigation apparatus to the mobile telephone (3), where the route information is output on a display. Map sections of the route and/or text guidance may be transmitted to the mobile telephone for display. Additional information relating to available means of transport may also be transmitted. Independent claims are included for a portable navigation system and a mobile telephone.
