Visible food packaging structure with polyamide food contact layer to remove food coloring compounds

Visible food packaging structures for liquid or semi-liquid fruit or vegetable products are 0.4 mil. Or more of the polyamide food contact layer, thereby extending the color life of the contained food. The polyamide layer removes the specific decomposition products of the polyphenolic compounds that may cause browning during storage. The packaging structure enables the contents and their color to be clearly seen by using a transparent film or sheet structure material having a polyamide surface layer (such a structure material is formed in a packaging structure). The packaging structure may be such as a film pouch or a plastic bottle, and the surface layer of the film or sheet forms the inner food contact layer of the packaging structure. Alternatively, a contact layer within the polyamide may be used on the lid of the transparent packaging structure, in which case the transparent packaging container portion itself need not have a contact layer in the polyamide.
