PURPOSE: An economic process for producing high-concentrated polyhydroxyalkanoates, especially poly(3-hydroxybutylate)("P(3HB)") and poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate)("P(3HB-co-3HV)") in a large scale is provided by using a recombinant E. coli, XL1-Blue-pJC3 (KCTC-0480BP) or XL1-Blue-pJC4 (KCTC-0481BP). CONSTITUTION: The recombinant E. coli, XL1-Blue-pJC3 is produced by transforming with pJC3 containing PHA operon and beta-lactamase gene of Alcaligenes latus. The recombinant E. coli, XL1-Blue-pJC4 is produced by transforming with pJC4 (figure 1c) containing PHA operon, beta-lactamase gene and plasmid R1 parB region of Alcaligenes latus. Polyhydroxyalkanoates are produced by culturing the E. coli XL1-Blue-pJC3 or XL1-Blue-pJC4 in a simple medium containing glucose as carbon source at 20-40C.
