PURPOSE: A continuos flowing method is provided for reducing the activity of microorganisms and/or enzymes in liquid product by using the pressurized carbon dioxide. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises: mixing the flow of pressurized liquid carbon dioxide and the flow of pressurized liquid product such as an orange juice at a temperature not freezing the liquid product; passing the mixture through a reaction section by the pressure of about 300-20000 psia for about 5 seconds to 30 minutes; reducing the pressure of the mixture to vaporizing liquid carbon dioxide; and heating the mixture at a temperature between the freeze point of the product and about 60°C for preventing the freeze of the liquid product due to the cooling of the carbon dioxide.
