USE OF THE AMINO ACIDS CONTAINING A SULFUR ATOM OR THEIR DERIVATIVES FOR REVISING THE ABNORMAL EXPRESSION OF DRUG METABOLIZING ENZYMES AND THE MODIFIED PHARMACODYNAMICS, AND PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE AMINO ACIDS OR THEIR DERIVATIVES

PURPOSE: The use of the amino acids containing a sulfur atom or their derivatives is provided, for revising the abnormal expression of drug metabolizing enzymes and the modified pharmaco dynamics. CONSTITUTION: The abnormal pharmaco-metabolism due to protein deficiency, tuberculosis, cancer, AIDS, fasting/starvation, diabetes or disorder in the digestive system, and thereby modified pharmaco dynamics are revised by administering the amino acids containing a sulfur atom or their derivatives such as cysteine, cystine, methionine, cysteate, N-acetylcysteine, homocysteine and homocysteate to humans or animals. The modified expressions of cytochrome P450, microsomal epoxide hydrolase (mEH) and glutathione S-transferase (GST) are normalized by the amino acids containing a sulfur atom or their derivatives. The revising effect is improved by administering the amino acids together with an antioxidizing agent such as vitamin C and vitamin E.
