PURPOSE: A device of vehicle alarm for a signal violation and the control method is provided to warn a driver of a signal violation and to lead safety driving by sensing whether violating traffic signal or not. CONSTITUTION: A device of vehicle alarm for a signal violation and the control method comprises a starting sensing unit (10), a signal sensing unit (20) to discriminate color vis ion lighting on a signal lamp, a stoppage sensing unit (30) to sense whether vehicle is stopped or not in started condition, a control unit (40) to give the alarm unit a signal of alarm generation when the sensed color vis ion is red or yellow, an alarm unit (50) to output an alarm sound.
