PURPOSE: A method is provided to achieve an improved fuel efficiency while allowing a transmission control device to effectively perform an on-line control for a damper clutch. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a first step of transmitting a shift pattern request signal for reduction of exhaust gas if an engine cooling water temperature is within a first cooling water temperature and a second cooling water temperature in a section where a rotational frequency of an engine is within a preset value, and a torque adjustment disable signal if not, a second step of judging a fuel supply state of an engine in a section where a rotational frequency of an engine is higher than a preset value, a third step of judging whether a torque adjustment is proceeding in accordance with a torque reduction request signal if it is judged in the second step that the fuel is being supplied, a fourth step of transmitting a signal indicative of torque adjustment being performed if it is judged in the third step that the torque adjustment is proceeding, and judging whether a battery voltage and an engine cooling water temperature are higher than a battery voltage preset value and a third cooling water temperature, respectively, a fifth step of transmitting a torque adjustment enable signal if the battery voltage and the engine cooling water temperature are higher than the present voltage and temperature, and a torque adjustment disable signal if not, and a sixth step of transmitting a fuel shutoff state signal if it is determined in the second step that the fuel feed state is at a shutoff state.
