PURPOSE: Disclosed is a preparing method of sodium-cobalt oxide catalyst for flue gas treatment of automobile, which is prepared by deposition of cobalt oxide from reaction with cobalt-containing compound and sodium carbonate. CONSTITUTION: After deposition of cobalt oxide (Co3O4) from mixture of cobalt nitrate hydrate (Co(NO3)3 6H2O) and sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) solution, the catalyst for flue gas treatment is prepared by incipient wetness method of sodium species. And, in order to remove sodium carbonate in the deposited cobalt oxide, a washing process is carried out using double deionized water. The catalyst, Co3O4, is dried at 80 - 120 deg. C for 10 - 14 h and calcined at 350 - 450 deg. C for 3 - 5 h. The incipient wetness method has sodium species be co-precipitate on the catalyst with the condition of atomic ratio of Na to Co of 0.005 - 0.03. The precipitated Na-Co3O4 catalyst is dried at 80 - 100 deg. C for 1 - 2 h and calcined at 550 - 600 deg. C for 15 - 17 h.
