FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out keratotomy of maximum volume in advance. 6 months later, epithelium layer is removed from the central part of corneal envelope using flat laser beam of ultraviolet laser having impulse power of 80 to 250 mJ/cm2, 5-10 Hz frequency impulse duration of 15 ns and 3.5-5.0 mm diameter. Corneal stroma is evaporated using ultraviolet laser beam having impulse power of 230 to 250 mJ/cm2, 5-10 Hz frequency, impulse duration of 15 ns, Gauss energy distribution half-width from 1.8 to 2.2 and 3.5-5.0 mm diameter. The remaining cornea thickness is not to be less than 250 mcm. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment; wide range of applications.
