An antenna includes a circuit board (3) carrying an antenna in the form of conductor paths (1,2) on its surface (4) and on its lower face (5). The circuit board is provided with plated- through apertures (10) along the conductor paths (1,2) and through which the surface conductor paths are electrically joined to the those on the lower face of the board (3). The surface conductor path (1) has at least one discontinuity (9) with a given gap, and the conductor path (2) on the lower face (5) of the circuit board (3), in the region of the discontinuity (9) on the upper face, is made continuous and is connected to the circuit board (1) on the surface (4) via the plated-through apertures (10). The conductor paths (1,2) are specifically coated onto a substrate as a thin electrically conducting layer.
