The system has an aerial (10) occupying a position when a motor vehicle (1) is unlocked and another position when the vehicle is locked. The aerial is in the form of a rod extending along a main direction, and is pivotably mounted around an axle (A) perpendicular to the main direction. The aerial has a lighting device (100) emitting a light signal with a color when the aerial passes to the former position, and another light signal with another color when the aerial passes to the latter position. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a motor vehicle`s locking or unlocking state signalling system.
