Simulated mass is determined from vehicle mass rotating on test stand and remaining vehicle mass. Separate test process is performed on the stand for remaining vehicle parts capable of rotation, to obtain measurements (mRadv), and determine total vehicle mass from the translatory vehicle mass and the vehicle mass rotating during the test. Total vehicle mass is used to determine simulated mass. An apparatus for performing the method is also claimed.
