Device comprises a distance sensor (2) placed adjacent to the vehicle wheel (1) and coupled to an analysis device. The sensor comprises an oscillating circuit with a measurement coil so that the coil current is increased or decreased according to whether the wheel is moved towards or away from the coil. The analysis device can then be used to trigger an alarm device.
