Airbag cushion (LKS) is placed between upper (O) and lower (U) layers of the seat belt while folded together. The airbag is composed of at least two woven layers, and at least one layer is bonded with one of the belt layers (O,U). When unfolded, the airbag extends over the sides of the belt layers with outer sections (LA,RA). The outer sections bonded together by thin interrupted dart lines (AN). The woven layers are firmly bonded together at the outer edges (LK,RK) of the outer sections (LA,RA). The dart bonds (AN) for the woven layers at the outer sections (LA,RA) are woven and/or adhesive bonded and/or welded and/or stitched. At least two woven layers are bonded in one piece with one or both of the belt layers (O,U), especially by weaving.
