The electromagnet has a magnetic armature (5) for operation of a setting element, provided with a yoke body (16) having at least one pole face (4) and a guide (7), e.g. a guide sleeve, extending perpendicular to the pole face, receiving a guide pin (6.1,6.2). The pole face has grooved recesses receiving a coil (17), with at least part of the outside surface of the yoke body enclosed by a plastics housing sheath (20), which secures the coil in the grooved recesses.
