A rotor (6) moves to and fro and acts on a gas exchange valve (1) to be controlled. A controllable electromagnet (3,4) has a yoke body (3.1,4.1) and a coil body (3.2,4.2). The electromagnet causes the rotor to move against the force of a pullback spring (9,12) from a first adjusting position into a second adjusting position. An aluminum casing (14) surrounds the yoke body and has a retaining chamber (9.1) for the pullback spring.
