Flameproof thermoplastic resin composition used e.g., in offices supplies or electrical appliances comprises a base resin, a styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer, a aromatic phosphoric ester and a phenolic resin
A flameproof thermoplastic resin composition comprises a base resin, a styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer, an aromatic phosphoric ester and a phenolic resin. The flameproof resin comprises: (A) 100 pts.wt of a base resin comprising: (a) 40-95 wt.% of a rubber-modified styrene-containing resin; and (b) 5-60 wt.% of a polyphenylene ether resin; (B) 2-40 pts.wt weight of a styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer featuring 5-18 wt.% acrylonitrile; (C) 5-30 wt.% of an aromatic phosphoric ester of formula (I) and/or (II) with a melting point of 90 deg C or above; and (D) 3-30 pts.wt of a phenolic resin. R1 to R6 = H or 1-4C alkyl; X = dialcohol derivative such as resorcinol, diphenol, hydroquinol, Bisphenol A or Bisphenol S; and N = 0-4.
