Rain water treated by exposure to ultra-violet light rendering suitable for grey water uses and reducing demand for mains-supplied drinking water

During the passage of the rain water from the collection point to the reservoir, and from the reservoir to the user point, the water is exposed especially to ultra-violet and/or infra red ionizing radiation. An assembly (10) collects rain water (11) which is piped (14) to a cistern (13) from which it is surrendered to a grey water (24) user point (16). During its passage from the collection point to the reservoir, and during its passage from the reservoir to the user point, the water is exposed especially to ultra-violet and/or infra red ionizing radiation. Also claimed is an assembly which is suitable for both new installations and retro-fit to existing installations.
