Three-phase multi-pole synchronous generator with transverse flux flow, has three groups of claw shaped stator poles made of sheet metal laminations and outer permanent magnet rotor
A claw-shaped stator (4) has three uniformly distributed groups of claw poles (5) formed by identical sheet metal laminations. The outer claw poles in each group have cutouts which fit into corresponding cutouts of an axial flux core (7) having a wound coil (8). An outer rotor (1) consists of permanent magnet poles. Preferably, the total number (K) of stator claw poles is an even number divisible by 3, e.g. 12, 18, 24, 30, defined by the equation, K = P-2, where P = total number of rotor poles. The three groups of claw poles are arranged at an intermediate angle of 120 degrees and spaced from each other by a distance of 2/3g, where g is gap between two adjacent claw poles.
