The recording device comprises a light source (1) which produces laser beams (6) that are parallel to an optical axis (7) and spaced apart. The light source consists of a laser diode block (4,5), the laser emitters (4) being spaced apart along a common substrate holder (5). The spacing between the emitters defines the spacing of the laser beams. At least one optical lens (2) is arranged in the beam path of the laser beams, to compensate for non-uniform divergence of the beams, transversely to the optical axis. At least one objective lens (3) is arranged in the beam path of the laser beams to focus the laser emitter as an exposure point (9) on the recording material.
