A supported composition containing gold and/or silver particles, titanium dioxide and a silicon-containing support, in which there are groups (R) on the surface selected from silicon-alkyl, silicon-aryl, fluoro-alkyl and fluoro-aryl groups. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of supported compositions by surface-treatment of the silicon-containing support and/or supported composition.
