The hydraulic valve has a locking and floating function and has a housing bore, in which a switch channel optionally providable with pressure and with connecting channels on both sides is connectable by a control valve with a pressure source and a tank. On both sides outside the switch channel issue motor channels for connection of a hydraulic motor and in which two pistons form between them a dividing chamber connected with the switch channel. Also on both sides outside are spring-loaded stop valves. The stop valves (16,16a) have closure pieces (15,15a) fitted in the bore (4), which on the side turned away from the valve seat (17,17a) limit a spring chamber (18,18a) containing stop valve springs (19,19a). Each spring chamber is pressure-unloaded to a tank connection by an auxiliary valve (22,22a) which opens through axial displacement of the adjacent piston (10,10a).
