The noose for an endoscope has a control cable (2) which is longitudinally movable into a sleeve (1). The noose is formed of a U-shaped bent elastic material section formed into a loop which forms a noose (3) extending beyond the distal end of the sleeve when the control cable is pushed into the proximal end of the sleeve. The loop is retracted into the distal end of the sleeve when the cable is pulled to draw the noose together. An end piece (5) is provided at the distal end of the loop. The end piece has two through holes whose longitudinal axes run parallel to each other. Two parallel aligned sections of the loop are loosely held in the two holes.
