An airflow sensor (2) detects amounts of air intake. An air-fuel-ratio sensor (6) detects air-fuel ratio in the exhaust gas. A controller regulates amounts of exhaust gas re-circulation at a desired level by using an exhaust gas re-circulation control valve (17). An adjuster sets amounts of injected fuel in a fuel injection valve (13) by relying on a controlled air-fuel ratio inside an engine cylinder (1).
