Liposome-based agent (A) for transferring DNA (I) into eukaryotic cells comprises an alkylphospholipid (APL), a second lipid, (II), a DNA vector construct, optionally dioleylphosphoethanolamine (DOPE), optionally cholesterol (Ch), and other standard auxiliaries and additives for liposome preparation, such as buffers and antioxidants.
