PURPOSE:To calculate the vector total sum at a high speed by adding together the elements of the vector data with use of a 3-input adder circuit and three registers which select and hold the addition output of the adder circuit and the vector data and use these output and data as the inputs to the 3-input adder circuit. CONSTITUTION:A 1st register 1 selects and holds one of the vector data A, the addition result C of a 3-input vector adder circuit 4, and the fixed value as an input. A 2nd register 2 selects and holds one of the vector data B, the result C, and the value 0 as an input. A 3rd register 3 selects and holds one of the result C and the value 0 as an input. Then the circuit 4 uses the outputs of three registers 1-3 as the inputs and obtains the sum total of three input data in the m-timing cycle time. Then the circuit 4 outputs its addition result C to the registers 1-3 respectively.
