Each arm (5) of the gripper (4) includes a rotary component (7) which turns round axis (8) to switch elastically between rest, work and grip settings under bottle pressure and vice versa. At rest, the components (7) stand less than one bottle neck apart and with the bottle clear as opposed to the work setting at bottle neck spacing due to the bottle entering the space (6) from outside. In the grip setting, the components (7) turn back partly elastically onto the bottle neck and so hold this in the grip space. The fork (4) of the gripper is supported by element (11) which holds up the neck of the bottle in the grip space (6). The component (7) includes a roller (10) joined to a pin (9) which fits into the arm (5) via springs (12). The springs tilt and re-set the axis (8) in the work and rest settings respectively.
