The method of regulating the temperature of a motor vehicle seat uses a seating surface (3a) forming microcapsules of phase change material with a transition temperature of between fifteen and thirty seven degrees. The material is heated before use of the seat so that the material phase changes while the seat is in use. The heater is regulated by comparing the seat temperature to a reference temperature.
