Halogen-free flame retardant plastic composition comprising a plastisol of acrylic resin and intumescent agent dispersed in a plasticizer. Halogen-free flame retardant plastic composition suitable for coating onto a substrate is in the form of a plastisol comprising an acrylic resin and an intumescent agent dispersed in a plasticizer medium, which at low shear rates exhibits Newtonian type rheological behavior with a viscosity of less than 6000 mPa.s. and at high shear rates exhibits pseudoplastic type rheological behavior.
