Image data is sequentially read and validated in a first scanning mode from a predetermined number of rows, and then from a greater number of rows in a second scanning mode. For each sequential validation step, a compensation voltage, which is the same for each of the two modes, is applied to a group of other rows. Image data is sequentially read in each column of the detector for each row validation step. Independent claims are included for : (a) a method for compensating for induced charges by scanning in a discrete pixel detector; (b) a system forming a digital detector for reading row-column signals; (c) and an X-ray imaging system including a digital detector.
