Stability of excellent perfluoroalkyl group-containing copolymer non-aqueous dispersion liquid and water-repellent and oil-repellent

PURPOSE: To provide the subject stable non-aqueous dispersion of a perfluoroalkyl group-containing copolymer, useful as a solventtype water and oil repellent. ;CONSTITUTION: A perfluoroalkyl group-containing acrylate F-1 of the formula, stearyl acrylate and a polymethyl methacrylate macromonomer are copolymerized in toluene at 70°C for 10hr and toluene is further added thereto to obtain a stable non-aqueous dispersion containing 15wt.% solid matter. The resultant dispersion is then further diluted with mineral turpentine to 0.5wt.% solid matter to obtain a solvent-type water and oil repellent. This water and oil repellent is used for water and oil repelling treatment by impregnating a polyester fabric therewith, drying it and subsequently curing it. The objective non-aqueous dispersion excellent in stability, useful as a solvent-type water and oil repellent excellent in water and oil repellency and free from a danger of ozone layer destruction is obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
