PURPOSE: To obtain a wire-wound chip inductor which can be obtained at reasonably low costs and to obtain its manufacturing method. ;CONSTITUTION: Core connecting pieces which have been provided at a plurality of pairs of lead terminals 2a, 2b on a beltlike lead frame are erected relatively, a plurality of U-shaped cores are installed between themselves and electrode connecting pieces 3a, 3b, and the cores are then bonded and fixed by using an adhesive. In succession, one end side of the lead frame 1 is cut, a plurality of core works 6 are formed to be a chain shape, coils are wound on the plurality of U-shaped cores to be a chain shape, terminals of the coils are connected electrically to the pairs of electrode connecting pieces 3a, 3b, and a plurality of inductor bodies are obtained.
