PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely control the vibrational direction of a vibrating member. SOLUTION: The device is provided with two pairs of electrostrictive elements 4a to 4d that are arranged on the outer circumferential surface of the base end part of a vibrated member 3 and that is extended or contracted in the axial direction of the vibrated member 3 in accordance with applied driving voltages, and a driving control part 5 for controlling the ratio of the driving voltage to be applied to a pair of electrostrictive elements 4a, 4c to that to be applied to another pair of electrostrictive elements 4b, 4d; and the end of the vibrated member 3 is slightly vibrated in the direction corresponding to the ratio of driving voltage to be applied to the two pairs of electrostrictive elements 4a to 4d.
