METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPRESSING PROLIFERATION OF MICROORGANISM IN CIRCULATION COOLING WATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent microorganisms from proliferating in cooling water circulating through a cooling tower and a heat exchanger effectively by supplying metal ions to the cooling water while circulating forcibly through independent piping. ;SOLUTION: Cooling water 19 circulates through a cooling tower 10 and a heat exchanger 15 through feed piping 14a, 14b and return piping 16. Water tank 10a of the cooling tower is coupled with water supply piping 12a, 12b equipped with hand value 11 and supplied with cooling water 19. Independently from the circulation circuit of cooling water 19, the water tank 10a is coupled with a water treating unit 20 (or 40, 60) for circulating free metal ions, containing monovalent silver ions, through piping 17a, 17b while dissolving. The water treating unit 20 comprises means for removing calcium, a pump for circulating cooling water 19, and means for supplying silver ions in order to suppress proliferation of microorganisms.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
