PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain technique controlling a welding current, a pressure force, an energizing time, etc., according to new indexes by finding the new indexes relating better to the degree of the change in the shape of an electrode tip although the degree of the change in the shape of the electrode tip is represented by the number of times of welding and the size of the change in a voltage between electrodes in traditional technique.;SOLUTION: The welding current value of a prescribed time is indicated (S12) from a welding start by the initial current indication means of a resistance welding equipment. An energizing area when the above prescribed time has elapsed, is calculated (S16) by an energizing area calculation means. From the calculated energizing area, a welding current value after that is determined (S18) by a welding current determination means. The size of an actual welding current is controlled to a current value to be indicated by the initial current indication means for a prescribed time from a welding start by a welding current control means, and after that, it is controlled (S20) to a current value to be determined by the welding current determination means. It is effective that a welding current, etc., to be required when next welding is started, are controlled from an energizing area obtained when previous energizing was completed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
