PURPOSE:To improve the quality of test and to make it possible to perform the detection of the cause of the defect for individual layer in the continuity test of a circuit board having a light emitting diode. CONSTITUTION:Switches S1, S2 and S3, which are common for circuits 5 and 6 of a sample circuit board 2, whose normal state is confirmed, and a product circuit board 1 under test, are sequentially turned ON. Individual test currents are made to flow from power supplies B1 on the test side and power supplies B2 on the sample side. The defective continuity of the product circuit board 1 is detected based on the lighting and no-lighting of monochromatic-light emitting diodes 2 and dichroic-light emitting diodes of the product circuit board 1 and the sample circuit board 2 and the comparison of the colors of the emitted lights.
