PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure the tillage depth of a rotary tiller. ;SOLUTION: This controller for the tillage depth of the rotary tiller is obtained by installing a pressure detecting sensor 20 for detecting the internal pressure of a hydraulic cylinder 13 and a lifting arm angular sensor 18 for detecting the rotation angle at the base of a left and a right lifting arms 9 and 9 and measuring the tillage depth of the rotary tiller 8 from values detected with the pressure detecting sensor 20 and the lifting arm angular sensor 18 in a tractor for lifting and lowering the rotary tiller 8 with the left and right lifting arms 9 and 9 vertically rotating with the hydraulic cylinder 13 at the rear of a car body. A position where the rotary tiller 8 is lowered by lowering rotation of the left and right lifting arms 9 and 9 to contact the ground and the internal pressure of 0 of the hydraulic cylinder 13 is detected with the pressure detecting sensor 20 is taken as the tillage depth of 0 cm. The subsequent lowering movement of the rotary tiller 8 is detected with the lifting arm angular sensor 18 and the tillage depth is calculated from a prescribed calculating formula on the basis of the detected lowering angle.
