PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a sustained functional imparting agent excellent in long- term persistence of effects, sustained release effects. etc., of various organic medicines by supporting an organic functional imparting agent such as an antimicrobial agent, an antifungal agent or an insect repellent on a water absorbing inorganic substance having the ability to bond water of crystallization. ;SOLUTION: This sustained functional imparting agent is obtained by supporting (A) an organic functional imparting agent on (B) a water absorbing inorganic substance having the ability to bond water of crystallization (e.g. particles such as zeolite, an aluminosilicate, silica gel or an acid clay, preferably having great adsorptivity and ≥10-20m²/g, preferably ≥50m²/g specific surface area). The sustained release functional agent is prepared by removing water from the component (B), then bringing the component (B) into contact with the component (A) and replacing the component (A) with water in the component (B) for exhaustion.
