PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable proper penmanship training by executing penmanship training on the basis of the quality evaluated result close to the evaluation of human sight. ;SOLUTION: This device has a character quality evaluated result output part 10 for finding an elastic energy while using the visual induction field of an evaluation object character and the visual induction field of a reference character of the same type as that evaluation object character and for outputting the quality evaluated result of the evaluation object character on the basis of that elastic energy and a penmanship training result evaluating part 20 for outputting information showing the evaluation of the training result corresponding to the quality evaluation value of the evaluation object character. The information showing the evaluation of the training result is the character sample of a quality equal with or a little higher than the quality evaluation value corresponding to the evaluation object character or penmanship contents of a writer in the past. In this case, the character sample is the quality evaluation value based on the elastic energy with each of correspondent reference characters and is prepared as a character sample data base 21 corresponding to each of characters.
