PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for working a metal foil having a slit in which the metal foils having the slit such as lath net are continuously and stably manufactured from a plate at a high speed by a simple action, and provided with a burred portion and a hole portion to improve the close adhesivity of an active substance to a base material, and no exposed burrs pierce a separator to cause defective insulation or short-circuit.;SOLUTION: A pair of cylindrical rolls 20 and 22 are engaged with each other with a work 13 held therebetween, have a cutting blade 26 extending in the axial direction of the rolls on an outer circumferential part thereof, and are rotated in a synchronous manner with each other. A non-cutting part 26a is provided in a staggered manner at least on one cutting blade of the cylindrical rolls, a slit extending in the axial direction is formed in the work in a staggered manner, and the work between the slits is deformed along the cutting blade.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
