PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Ni alloy steel for a color-selecting electrode, for giving highly accurate etching performance thereto without marring productivity, a Ni alloy steel plate formed by rolling and annealing the same, and a color- selecting electrode and a color picture tube using the same.;SOLUTION: For the Ni alloy steel used for the color selecting electrode, the content of elements other than Ni in quantity equivalent for obtaining a low thermal expansion coefficient and Mn in small quantity to be added thereto for preventing cracks due to heat brittleness during hot rolling is reduced to the utmost, and the surface concentration of impurity elements including C, Si, Mn, P for etching deterioration after rolling and annealing is restricted to be a fixed range or lower.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
