PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a frequency-chirped new light pulse column in which a frequency in each mode is changed in proportion to a time at a fixed rate decided, based on laser resonator length and the modulation frequency of an acoustic optical modulator inserted into a resonator, while the synchronous state of the phase of each mode of a laser output light is held.;SOLUTION: This higher harmonics mode synchronizes laser resonator for driving a light intensity modulator 6 arranged in a laser resonator according to a sine wave signal equivalent to the higher order integral times of a basic frequency decided, based on laser resonator length. An acoustic optical modulator 10 being a frequency element is inserted into the laser resonator, and a primary diffraction light to which frequency shift is operated is feedbacked to a laser medium by the acoustic optical converter 10, Thus, it is possible to realize chirp oscillation to which frequency shift in each output pulse is operated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
