TOP BOARD CLOSING APPARATUS FOR RISE AND FALL OPENING AT STAIR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a top board closing apparatus for rise and fall opening at a stair, which is capable of closing or opening the top board lightly and smoothly and closing even a wide rise and fall opening, thereby preventing the falling of children from the rise and fall opening. ;SOLUTION: A top board 8 for closing a rise and fall opening 2 is separated into a front top board 8A and a rear top board 8B, which are then coupled together with hinges 9 in a foldable manner downward. A rear portion of the rear top board 8B is attached to an edge frame 6 of an opposite side 5 of a rise and fall platform 4 with hinges 10 in a manner permitting a luffing motion. A guide rail 7 is installed at both the sides of the edge frame 6. Pulleys 14 are installed at the front and rear portions of one side of the edge frame 6, and a rope 12 is tensioned between the pulleys 14. Moving bodies 16 linked to the guide rail 7 and moved are provided in a rotatable manner at both the sides of the front top board 8A. The front portion of the front top board 8A is fixed to the rope 12. A linking member 17 is projected out at the top board 8 near the coupling portions between the front top board 8A and the rear top board 8B. The tip of an operation lever 19 for pushing up the linking member 17 is attached to a pivot 18 on the edge frame 6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
