PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate cleaning of the interior of a heating chamber and eliminate a fear of microwave leaking by eliminating a need of forming an uneven surface and a through-hole in the inner wall part of the heating chamber of a heating apparatus. ;SOLUTION: The normal position detecting mechanism of the functioning part of the heating apparatus comprises a drive member mounted on the functioning part side; a driven part assembly mounted on the body side of the heating apparatus; and a switch for generating a detecting signal. The driven part assembly comprises a switch actuating member situated on the back side of a flat wall surface on the body side; a mounting bracket supported that it is movable between the back of the flat wall surface and a switch for generating a detecting signal; and biasing member to exert a biasing force, by which the switch actuating member is constantly biased toward the switch for generating a detecting signal, between the mounting bracket and the switch actuating member. The drive member is situated in a position, corresponding to the switch actuating member with the flat wall surface nipped therebetween, when the functioning part is present in a normal position and exerts a drive force to move the switch actuating member in a direction in which it is spaced away from the switch for generating a detecting signal against the deviation force of the deviating member.
