PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of damages of an AC load and a DC load connected to stop generating by an operation of a third overcurrent circuit breaker in a conventional excitation type generator having overcurrent breakers in AC and DC output circuits and an overcurrent breaker in an exciting circuit having an exciting winding by using a part of main generating windings also as a DC output winding to draw an AC output circuit and a DC output circuit.;SOLUTION: An excitation type generator draws both AC and DC output circuits with a part of main generating windings MC used also as DC output winding. In this case, if the windings MC totally fall within overload states when rated loads or less are simultaneously connected to both the output circuits, exciting currents flowing to the windings EC are controlled to a value or less for not generating overcurrent in the windings MC. Thus, the current flowing to both the AC and DC loads or either the AC or DC load are suppressed to a necessary value or less, and generating is preferentially continued.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
