PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystalline oxide having a new crystal structure by using a noble metal compound having characteristics such as electric charge, asymmetric structure and racemization resistance as a structure orienting agent. ;SOLUTION: The crystalline oxide is expressed by compositional formula SiO2.xM2O3.y[Rh(en)3]2O3.zH2O((x), (y) and (x) are each a molar ratio satisfying 0x1, 0y1 and z0; M is B, Al and/or Ga; and en is ethylenediamine) and has a crystal structure showing the following X-ray diffraction pattern in terms of 2 θ by powder X-ray analysis: 11.4, 14.8, 15.1, 18.8, 19.8, 22.0, 22.9 and 27.4 (2 θ is the diffraction angle (°) with X-ray of 1.54 Å). The method for the production of the crystalline oxide comprises the preparation of an aqueous mixture containing (a) a silicon compound, (b) a boron compound, an aluminum compound or a gallium compound and (c) tris (ethylenediamine) rhodium (III) complex salt and the hydrothermal synthetic treatment of the above aqueous mixture.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
