PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop the application of a vibration-energy absorber by a vibration control unit with a bracing-shaped device made of a shape memory alloy as the usage of the shape memory alloy, and to prevent the inclination and collapse of a building by absorbing vibration energy in the case of an earthquake by a damper for a detached wooden or steel-construction residence, to which the vibration control unit is arranged. ;SOLUTION: The vibration control unit has the device having a structure, in which a bar or a linear element made of the shape memory alloy is arranged to a frame made of steel in an X shape so as to mainly work to tensile force, and a plurality of the vibration control units with the devices are installed and assembled among the beams and columns of the building in the damper for the wooden or steel-construction residence.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
