PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prepaid settlement system., which can be freely utilized by each of users without use restriction imposed to the user. ;SOLUTION: A money receiving device 3 transmits money receiving information containing the amount of received money to a managing center 5. The managing center 5 generates a prepaid code and a password, supplies them to the money receiving device 3 and stores remainder information and password information. The money receiving device 3 receives the prepaid code and the password from the managing center 5 and prints them out on a receipt or the like. The money receiving device 3 accepts the purchase request of an article and the entry of the prepaid code and the password, and transmits the purchase request containing the inputted prepaid code or the like to a store server 7. The store server 7 transmits the prepaid code, the password and a purchase amount in the purchase request to the managing center 5. After the password is checked, the managing center 5 specifies the remainder information with the prepaid code as a key and performs settlement processing for subtracting the purchase amount from the remainder.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
