PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antiobestic medicine by including a new capsaicinoid-like substance which has an action for stimulating the metabolism of fats and the secretion of adrenaline to control the obesity.;SOLUTION: This antiobestic medicine contains a capsaicinoid-like substance of formula I or II [(n) is ≥1]. The capsaicinoid-like substance is obtained by extracting a sharp taste-free fixed breed cayenne, Capsicum annuum L, 'CH-19 sweet', with ethyl acetate, eluting the extract with n-hexane and ethyl acetate by chromatography on silica gel and further eluting with methanol, or the like, by a reverse-phased chromatography on the silica gel, or by a chemical synthetic method utilizing an esterification reaction using the corresponding fatty acid and vanilyl alcohol as starting raw materials. The capsaicinoid-like substance is administered at a daily dose of about 1 μg to 100 mg per kg of the body weight.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
